Kindergartens in Galei Yam, 8 classes – Kiryat Yam

A kindergarten building built on a portion of a public lot with a shared entrance-passage axis to an adjacent daycare building with a traffic axis for the public to pass between them. Since these are buildings for the use of young children, the main entrances to the buildings were determined through a public internal passage between the functions, and next to a shared public playground.

The project was designed as an 8-classroom building on two floors, with each kindergarten operating independently with a separate entrance and an adjacent activity yard, and was approved by the Authority and the Ministry of Education two months after receiving the project planning and program.

In accordance with the municipality's directive to plan a cluster structure that allows for collaboration between the various kindergarten teams, the planning was updated to include a common entrance and foyer for all kindergartens. A new plan was issued and approved by the municipality's engineering and education teams.

The final structure of the kindergartens included an expanded entrance area leading to 5 kindergarten classrooms on the ground floor, one of which is designated for special education, an administration room and shared protected spaces used by the teams in the building for additional activities, and a first floor with 3 kindergarten classrooms, 2 courtyards (one shared by two kindergartens) and a shared protected space.
